Youth
Ministry

Compelled by the love of Jesus, Village Youth exists to respond to God in love and reflect God’s love to the world. We are an intentionally multicultural and missional community; this value shapes our learning, mentoring, and experiences. We long for this generation to know their identity, purpose, and belonging in the family and story of God. We invite youth to follow Jesus through Youth Church, Groups, Mentoring, and Experiences.

Experiences
Youth Church is a youth-contextualized worship experience where youth lead each other (alongside adults) to worship Jesus. We have musical worship teams led by youth, youth who share their stories, sharing in groups, responses, and prayer. Each Sunday, we have Jesus-centered and youth-specific teaching that encourages us to grow deeper in friendship with God, love for our neighbors, and action in our world. We also have a lot of fun and friendship.

On the first of every month, our church works together to create an intentionally multigenerational sanctuary service for youth and adults. Here our youth get a picture of what it looks like to be part of our larger church. Youth get to learn and serve alongside adults on our hospitality team, worship team, kids ministry, and in other areas on these multigenerational services.
Our Groups are all about being with God, building spiritual friendships, and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Middle School

Willamette Rooms 7-8:30pm
At Middle School Group, we encourage youth ages 6th-8th grade to be built up as followers of Jesus. We create opportunities for spiritual friendship through fun activities. We worship God and learn how to follow Jesus together. We share food, share life stories, reflect on Scripture, and pray for each other in small groups.

High School

North Village, 7-8:30pm
At High School Youth Group, we invite youth aged 9th-12th grade to join Jesus on his mission of loving our neighbors as ourselves. High Schoolers worship God together, learn from Scripture what the message of God means for their world today, and spend time in groups to share, reflect, and pray for each other.
There are various Bible Studies and groups that meet throughout the week as well. Contact the Pastor of Youth & Their Families for more information.
We hope for all our youth to have mentors they can rely on, confide in, trust, and follow Jesus with. Our mentors provide opportunities for our youth to meet one-on-one in our café or in smaller groups for deeper discipleship. Please reach out to the Pastor of Youth & Their Families to get connected with your youth's Youth Mentor.

Move Up Night

June 14 & June 18
We will welcome our new 6th graders to our weekly Wednesday Group and begin our summer hang-out schedule. 8th graders will move up to high school. All graduates and 18-year-olds are encouraged to stay until the end of August.

SLAM Trip

June 25-30
Our High School mission trip is June 25-30th. SLAM stands for Students Learning About Missions. We have been invited to partner with Mending Wings and some other churches to spend a week on the Yakama Reservation supporting the community through work projects, learning about Native American culture, and growing in love for Jesus. Registration is closed now, but if you sense God guiding you to join, please email Pastor Drew.

Youth for the City

August 3-6
We are partnering with B4 Church again for our Middle School Mission Camp: Youth for the City.

Youth For The City is a time for our students of Village Church and B4 Church to experience everything we love about camps all while reflecting the heart of Jesus in the service of our city. Students will attend chapel times with powerful worship and meaningful teaching followed by group discussions and prayer. Our team is putting together all sorts of competitions and recreational activities for our students so that they can connect with one another and deepen lasting friendships. And the centerpiece of this weekend will be the coming alongside local non-profits and community partners as we reflect God's heart of service. This four-day experience will be full of opportunities for our students to learn more about what it means to be like Jesus, have lots of fun, and impact our city in meaningful ways.
