Meet Village Church

Village Church in Beaverton, Oregon is seeking a Worship Pastor with a heart for leading God's people in Christ-centered, theologically rich, and musically vibrant worship within a beautifully diverse and intercultural community.

We are a missional, intercultural community in Christ that reflects the nations—on any given Sunday, our congregation sings in five languages and hears sermons translated live into Spanish, Korean, Mandarin and Japanese. With an average Sunday attendance of 1,000 across two distinct services, and 2,500 people on our campus weekly, our worship is a dynamic expression of unity in Christ amid cultural diversity. We’re looking for a Worship Pastor who can lead, disciple, and develop worship teams in this unique and Spirit-filled environment, drawing people from every background into authentic, participatory worship that glorifies God and builds up the Church.

Our community embraces both ancient and modern expressions of worship, blending global worship styles, hymns, and contemporary songs to form a liturgy that is biblically grounded and culturally inclusive. Our practice of intercultural values informs all that we do, including Sunday worship of the congregation, supported by a dedicated team of volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technicians. The Worship Pastor will oversee our worship ministry, in partnership with our Pastor of Intergenerational Ministries and the Arts, cultivating a culture of excellence and joy while mentoring worship leaders, investing in the spiritual lives of team members, and helping the congregation engage meaningfully with God through worship.

Village Church is more than a place to serve—it’s a place to belong. If you are a spiritually mature, experienced yet open to being stretched in new ways, and relationally gifted with strong organizational skills worship leader who is passionate about serving the global Church and leading Jesus’s people into worship, we invite you to consider joining us in this unique calling.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Worship Leadership and Ministry Development

  • Strengthen the culture of worship at Village Church by leading in a way that is biblically grounded, spiritually vibrant, and culturally inclusive.
  • Design and lead Sunday services in collaboration with the Pastor of Intergenerational Ministry & the Arts—integrating music, Scripture, prayers, call-to-worship, visual media, and artistic elements.
  • Oversee and disciple a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
  • Work closely with the Production and Worship Team: scheduling, resourcing, rehearsing, and equipping musicians and tech personnel.
  • Curate and evaluate Village’s musical worship library in alignment with our theological convictions, introducing new music and songs that reflect global worship styles and local church values.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor of Intergenerational Ministry & the Arts to lead the ministry, recruit, and train musicians and worship leaders.
  • Champion discipleship among worship team members and help develop spiritual formation rhythms for the entire creative arts ministry.
  • Coordinate with other Village ministries to ensure aligned and culturally thoughtful worship support.

Creative Arts and Sacred Expression

  • Foster a church culture where visual, poetic, dramatic, and many other artistic expressions are integrated into the life of worship and discipleship.
  • Oversee artistic contributions in sacred spaces (sanctuary, chapel, lobby, stage, etc.), creating environments that enhance worship.
  • Research and apply for grants related to worship and the arts.
  • Build partnerships with local, national, and international artists and galleries to promote intercultural, Christ-centered art.

Research, Missional Contextualization, and Ministry Shaping

  • Actively reflect on and develop theology and philosophy of intercultural, multicultural, and missional worship and arts ministry.
  • Participate networks with multicultural worship leaders nationally and globally for shared learning and collaboration.

  • Supervised by the Pastor of Intergenerational Ministry & the Arts and reviewed annually through the Personnel Commission process.
  • Pursue spiritual formation and soul-care as part of the ministry rhythm.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and theological proficiency required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in a worship or arts ministry, ideally within a multicultural, multilingual, or missional context.
