Village Kids

God loves kids! At Village, God has blessed us with the unique and rewarding task of partnering with parents in raising the next generation to know Him. We believe God actively pursues the hearts of children and consider ministry to children a privilege and a great responsibility.
Welcome to Village Kids! Our missional intercultural kid community meets weekly for worship, teaching, and friendship. We want everyone to have the opportunity to know, love, serve, and worship Him. Our goal as a ministry is to introduce children to Jesus and help them in their journey of becoming Christ's followers.

We offer two weekly opportunities for biblical teaching and discipleship: on Sunday through our nursery, early childhood, and K-5th grade programs and on Wednesday evenings through our Awana discipleship program.

Our Amazing Volunteer Team

Volunteers are the heart of our ministry to kids. Our exceptional team enjoys all kinds of kid stuff, loves to laugh, and is passionate about helping children know God, who they love and serve. If you love Jesus and are looking for a fun, meaningful way to serve Him, consider joining us at Village Kids.

By the way, parents and guardians are some of our best volunteers. They are great models to their children and learn new skills that help them with their family discipleship.

Application and background check consent are required, as well as completion of the Village’s Child Safety and Security Training. To volunteer or receive more information, contact us at kids@villagebeaverton.com.

We are delighted to have your child spend time in our nursery where our loving staff faithfully care for our little ones. Your child is precious to us, and we strive to provide the best care possible. Our purpose is to share the love of Christ by providing a safe and loving environment for your child. Our exceptional Nursery staff are trained and CPR certified.

Check-in Specific to Nursery
Check-in for infants through children who turn four years of age prior to September 1st is located on the first level of the Sanctuary building, best accessible from the lower parking lot. Along with checking in through Church Center (instructions below), we ask parents to also sign a registration sheet on the nursery counter, where you may leave us any special instructions regarding your child.

One of our nursery staff will greet you at the counter and ensure your child is safe in the nursery. Windows are located on both the nursery and toddler areas so you can watch your child at any time. Please have your cell phone available throughout the morning, as we will text you should your child need you.

When picking up your child, please come to the nursery counter and give the attendant your security tag. Your child will be brought to you. We ask that parents not enter the rooms to get their child. No child will be released without a security tag.

Contact Ruth Jones for more information.

Supplies to Bring

• Minimum of 3 diapers. Your child will be changed/checked every hour (and more if needed).
• Cup or bottle for your child. We only offer toddlers water to drink.
• Complete change of clothes.

Kindly label all items with your child's name (i.e. diaper bag, bottle, cup, pacifier, clothing).

Well Baby Policy

Along with your child's safety, we strive to maintain a high standard of hygiene in the nursery/toddler area. Since little ones are susceptible to germs, we have adopted a well-baby policy. Please do not bring your baby or toddler to the nursery with any of the following:

• Fever (must not have had a fever for the previous 24 hours)
• Diarrhea and/or vomiting
• Runny nose or eye discharge
• Undiagnosed or contagious rashes
• Flu symptoms: listless, no appetite
• Any contagious disease

You will be contacted immediately if your little one becomes ill during the service.

Nursing Moms

Next to our main Sanctuary is a warm, inviting, and private space set aside specifically for our nursing moms: The Deschutes Room. A large-screen TV is available in the room, so you can still follow along with the worship service.
Early Childhood is a time for exploring, learning, and growing. Our Sunday mornings are filled with play, learning activities, songs, Bible Stories, and volunteers devoted to providing a safe, loving environment for our children ages 4 and 5 (who are not yet in kindergarten). Teaching children God loves them is the beginning of what we hope will be a life-long journey with Him.

We enjoy using Orange's curriculum, which provides a variety of creative pathways for discussing biblical truth with our children aged three through five. To learn more about Orange's curriculum, visit their website.
Our high-energy Sunday elementary program aims to share the love of Christ in a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. Games, culture, science, and art are integrated into our large and small group format, which is designed to present biblical truth with an emphasis on real-life application. Sundays allow kids to celebrate, be inspired, and be challenged to love God with all their hearts.

Our kindergartners have dedicated classroom experience located in South Village. Our 1st-5th graders meet in the gym.

Village Kids Midweek Small Groups - Awana

Awana is Village's midweek discipleship ministry where kids grow in their walk with God through worship, teaching, and spiritual mentoring in a small group environment. The purpose of Awana as an organization is to give children an opportunity to know, love, and serve Jesus and to train leaders able to lead children to Christ.

In our 2025-2026 year, we are pleased to offer four Awana groups.
  • Cubbies: For children ages 4&5, not yet in Kindergarten. *It is required for your child to be potty trained in order to participate in our Cubbies program.
  • Sparks: Our weekly small group discipleship for children entering Kindergarten-2nd grade.
  • Truth & Training (also known as T&T): A weekly small group discipleship opportunity for children entering 3rd-5th grade.

Awana ministry partners

Small group leaders are an integral part of our team. Adults committed to leading a small group of children on a weekly basis are integral to our ability to disciple children. We have an amazing team of ministry partners who invest weekly in their group of kids with intentionality and loving care. Please contact us if you want to join our great team of small group leaders.

Sunday Check-In Procedure All Ages

Your child's safety is our top priority. We register each child using a digital check-in system, Church Center. You can either follow the steps below to pre-check your children into church, or check in when you arrive at one of the ipad stations.

Checking in is quick and easy! Simply approach an iPad, type in the last four digits of your phone number, select the kids who you will drop off at kids programming, and click finish.

By using the pre-check feature in the Church Center app, you can check in your kids from anywhere and the app will give you a QR code. When you arrive, approach an iPad, scan the QR code, and that's it!

On Sundays, check-in is located near your child’s program location. We have helpful volunteers available to answer questions. For your first visit, we invite you to arrive early so we can assist you in the check-in process.

After checking in, your child will receive a name tag that they must wear. Please keep your cell phone available as we will text you should your child need you. Parents or guardians must be present for pick up, children are not released to siblings.

Sunday check-in begins 20 minutes before the start of the worship service for all age groups. The K-5th grade check-in station closes 15 minutes after the service begins. Elementary-age children arriving after check-in is closed attend the adult service with their parents (an exception is made for first-time guests).
