The arts have always played an important role in worship because they help us to express our love for the Lord from our hearts. At Village we believe that we must follow Jesus’ mandate to worship in spirit (the heart-language of the worshiper) and in truth (in accord with the plumb line of Scripture). Because of this, we offer different services to appeal to those different “heart-languages”. The Worship Arts Ministry is made up of ministry teams that help lead in worship, and You, the worshiper, actively seeking to give God all the glory He deserves.
Our sanctuary choir helps to lead the worship in the 9:00 AM worship services. They provide a strong support for the congregational singing as well as performing a special piece each week that helps to lead us into worship. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A simple placement audition is required. Contact Stan Nash for more information on this ministry opportunity.
Currently 8 full bands that work in a rotation to provide music for our Contemporary Services in the Sanctuary, and our Chapel. All members are skilled instrumentalists & vocalists that are committed to a growing relationship with Christ. Participation in this group begins with an audition with Pastor Carlos Fernandez.
The technical aspect of our corporate worship gatherings includes sound, lighting, and media projection. These ministry areas are critical to allowing all who come to see, hear, and participate fully in the worship experience. To find out how you might help on this team, please contact Ian Watts.
Other Creative Ministry Opportunities
There are many other creative talents to be used for worship that have not been emphasized here. Poets, dancers, film makers, photographers, and others are needed to explore the breadth of creativity we desire to use. If you have a creative talent you are interested in using to enhance worship, please contact Pastor Carlos Fernandez.
