Seminars & Workshops

When: Sunday, October 17, 2-5pm

Where: In-person and Zoom

No cost

Questions? Contact Tony Huynh

Conversations impact all aspects of our lives. Sometimes conversations flow smoothly and easily. Other times they are tough and even distressing. Tough conversations are especially challenging in the congregational setting where we are motivated to be loving and kind. Tackling tough conversations walks through the mechanics of working through hard conversations, explores the spirit of healthy dialogue, invites openness to the leading of the Spirit and empowers participants to be at their best when tough conversations need to take place. In partnership with Credence & Co. Dr. Betty Pries will be the lecturer.

Workshop: Mediation & Reconciliation – Informal Coaching and Mediation Skills for Church Leaders

When: Thursday, January 6, 13, 20, 5:30-7:30pm

Where: Zoom

No cost

Questions? Contact Tony Huynh

Conflict within churches can involve complex dynamics and highly charged emotions, leaving those involved with deep hurt and pain. People from all ‘sides’ of the conflict may look to their pastors and lay leaders for assistance in helping to resolve these tensions. Being an “insider third party” – knowing the parties involved while seeking to help those parties to resolve their conflicts – presents unique challenges for church leaders. In this workshop, participants will learn informal mediation and coaching skills to help support congregants experiencing conflict while maintaining appropriate boundaries. In partnership with Credence & Co. Guided by Dr. Betty Pries.
