Chronic Pain Support Group
Wednesday nights beginning 4/15, 7-8pm
Contact Julia to join or if you have questions.
What: Chronic pain is a chronic illness. This is a loosely formatted support group to help anyone who lives with chronic pain. This is an open group: anyone can attend. Types of chronic pain include, but are not limited to: fibromyalgia, RA, cancer pain, post-surgical pain, back pain, arthritis pain, diabetic neuropathy, shingles, myofascial pain, inflammatory pain, CRPS, lupus, Lyme disease, nerve damage, autoimmune pain, headaches, joint pain, and nerve pain.
Meeting name: Village Chronic Pain Support
Content: At the beginning of each meeting, we will take the group ‘pulse’ to see how we can best meet the needs of those in attendance. We will use resources from the American Chronic Pain Association. The meeting has a general but flexible format. Our purpose is to share our experience, strength, and hope with each other, that we may face our pain, share our struggles and victories, and find ways to reduce our pain, and whenever possible eliminate it. Our goal is to improve our quality of life by sharing with, and caring for each other. This group has strict confidentiality. This is not a spectator meeting. It is participatory. Everyone will be encouraged to share. And leave the ‘who said whats’ there.
This group will continue to meet on line even after the COVID19 threat is gone, because many of us with chronic pain have mobility issues and we don’t want to exclude anyone.
